Ravel’s emotions were a mess as Miguel pulled his car into the airport parking lot. The chaos of the busy airport was something Ravel would struggle to deal with on a good day, but today wasn’t a good day for her. Despite it only being five days, this trip to visit Alice had felt like Ravel was living another life. Now the return to her normal life was calling and she wasn’t eager to answer that call. It felt like leaving paradise. She was only slightly able to hide her feelings from Alice and Miguel. Alice looked back at Ravel sympathetically as it was time to leave the car and make the departure real.
Thankfully, Ravel was afforded one final bit of babying to end her trip with. As she got out of the car Alice quickly clipped a leash to the leather harness Ravel was wearing with a smile. Ravel was wearing one of her cutest outfits too, a short light purple dress that offered plenty of diaper peeks and that matched incredibly well with the pink chest harness she was wearing. Alice had on her best baby sitter outfit, a black blouse with a long black and white skirt. She looked natural holding the very baby looking Ravel’s leash and Ravel looked just as natural on it. Miguel dressed in a typical collared shirt and jeans met the two girls with Ravel’s bags.
“We ready?” Miguel said trying to be chipper.
“Not really,” Ravel grimaced.
“I know sweetie,” Alice gave Ravel a hug. “Don’t worry. I’m sure we’ll have you back soon.”
“Yeah,” Ravel said with a hint of hopefulness.
“Now you’re gonna have to be a big girl in a bit, but until then,” Alice popped a pink pacifier into Ravel’s mouth. “You let me get some last-minute babying in ok.” Alice didn’t have to tell Ravel twice.
Ravel spent her fist moments in the airport just suckling on her pacifier and gently walking to the end of her leash to feel the gentle tug back and the warm fuzzies that came with that. Miguel and Alice handled everything for Ravel which was good because Ravel was still totally out of her element in the large bustling airport. She was distracted from her thoughts by a squish against her diaper.
“Just giving you a diaper check,” Alice explained. “It’s about time for you to go and I don’t want you going in this soaked diaper. Come on, let’s get you changed.” Ravel nodded as she was led along. “Now this is the last chance you’re gonna get to have your diaper changed so if you need to go …” Alice said with a knowing look. Ravel blushed a bit understanding what Alice meant. She was right on a practical level, but this would only be the second time she had a messy diaper changed. This time was on purpose too. So, Ravel was about as embarrassed as she could have been as she stopped to push a mess out into her diaper. Messing her diaper in the middle of a busy airport dressed like a baby and being walked on a baby leash was a great note to end the trip on Ravel admitted to herself.
“You are so cute,” Alice smiled. “Come on mush tush you need a diaper change.”
Despite the scenario being peak abdl fiction, Ravel was mostly quiet during the diaper change, just suckling on her pacifier in the airport’s adult changing room. While that was the baby thing to do, it wasn’t out of any desire to be more baby, she was just lost in her thoughts. This was it, the last interaction she would have on this trip, and it was over all too soon. Alice gave Ravel a hug and helped her off of the changing table in a fresh diaper.
“There you two are,” Miguel exclaimed seeing Alice and Ravel leave the restroom. “I figured you were giving the baby one last change.”
“Of course. She left a little good bye present for me too,” Alice smirked and Ravel blushed. “Ok sweetie,” Alice knelt down in front of Ravel and unclipped the lead on her harness. “We gotta say goodbye for now, and you have to be a big girl, or, well, a bigger girl.” Alice pulled the pacifier Ravel had been suckling out of her mouth.
“I know,” Ravel said dejectedly.
“You’ve been a very good girl, and I hope you come back to visit again.”
“I definitely will!”
“Looking forward to it,” Alice stood up satisfied that Ravel was sufficiently out of little space to handle the flight back home. She handed the leash itself back to Ravel.
“You don’t want your harness back?” Ravel asked.
“I got plenty. This is a little going away gift. Hopefully you’ll think of me whenever you wear it, or whenever I make you wear it.”
“Thanks,” Ravel said blushing furiously. Alice silently nodded.
“You’re gate is at the end of that hall,” Miguel handed Ravel her flight tickets and her carry-on bag. “Let us know when you land.”
“Will do,” Ravel said giving Miguel a hug. With that she solemnly walked past the security checkpoint with Alice and Miguel waving to send her off.
With most of the hard part of air travel done, Ravel just had to wait now. She sat by her gate and pulled out her portable game system, trying not to think about going back to the real world.
Thankfully the flight back was far less eventful than the flight there. Ravel found herself landing back in Alabama with little fanfare, and her feelings all came rushing in as she opened her phone to text send Alice a chaos message.
Made it: Bandsy
CryBabyCereal: Hooray ^^. I had some much fun with you come back again soon ok.
For sure ^^: Bandsy
For now, Ravel had to focus on other things as she had to get back home.
Just landed. You here? :Ravel
Donna: Yup waiting for you just outside. Welcome home.
The Alabama airport was much faster to navigate than the New York one. Ravel was out with all of her bags in no time and met Donna Sue who was one of only a handful of people in the waiting area.
“Welcome back!” Donna Sue said happily hugging Ravel. Donna was wearing a long set of overalls and a grey t-shirt. “Cute outfit, it looks like you had fun.”
“Yeah,” Ravel said a little shakily as she let Donna Sue take the bigger of her two checked bags.
“Yeah?” Donna Sue noted the mixed emotion on her friend. “Does that thing have a leash that goes with it?” Donna Sue pointed at the chest harness Ravel was still wearing.
“Oh yeah, she let me leave with it,” Ravel dug the chain leash out of her carry on bag.
“I wouldn’t mind if it made you feel better,” Donna Sue offered.
“No, I’m fine,” Ravel said quickly. “I mean I appreciate it, but maybe another time.”
“Ok,” Donna Sue said with a smile. “You need a change before we head home? it is a bit of a drive.” Ravel stared for a second not responding. “You need me to check?” Ravel nodded yes and Donna Sue subtly pressed Ravel’s diaper against her. “Only a little wet. You are drinking enough water, right?”
“I am!” Ravel said defensively. “I got changed right before I got on the plane.”
“That makes sense, I guess. Still, I got you some water in the car, be sure to drink up. Let’s head back home, I bet you are ready for a nap.” Donna Sue took the lead toward her car and Ravel was happy to silently follow.
It was a pretty significant drive back. The closest airport to Plant City was several hours away. Ravel would have to sit through not only a long drive after flight with the mix of emotions she was having now that she was back to the real world.
“You doing ok?” Donna Sue asked while she was driving. “You seem quiet.”
“I’m fine,” Ravel responded quickly, but she could tell Donna Sue didn’t buy it. “It’s just kinda tough to come back to real life. I had a week of like really being a baby and now I gotta go back to not.”
“You are pretty close to a baby in your real life too you know,” Donna Sue reminded.
“I know, but it’s not the same.”
“I get you,” Donna Sue said sympathetically. “You’re probably feeling hella sub drop right now.”
“Sub drop?” Ravel asked.
“I forget how new to this you are,” Donna Sue giggled. “You should look it up when you get home, but this kinda empty feeling you have after a scene is done is pretty common, and you were basically in a week-long scene.” Ravel felt a little better knowing that at least these feelings were normal and expected. “You’ll bounce back, it just takes time.”
“Well, that’s good to know.”
“You’ll have to tell me all the stuff you did when you do by the way,” Donna Sue said in a giddy fit. “I mean you got that new leash so I assume some walkies were involved.”
“Yes, there were some walkies,” Ravel admitted with a blush.
“Aaaaa cute,” Donna Sue squealed. “That’s just a thing you can do in New York?”
“Apparently,” Ravel answered with the same enthusiasm. “We had to take a train into the city, but once we were there no one really cared.”
“I bet that was nice,” Donna Sue said with a hint of longing. “I wish we could have that kind of thing over here. Maybe in a few years.”
“You’ve got enough land around your house we could just have walkies there.”
“You asking for a date?”
“No! Well, I mean we can, I just …” Ravel stammered a bit and Donna Sue laughed.
“I would love to Ravel. We’ll have to do it some time. Maybe walkies and a pic nic.” Ravel chose to just not respond.
The rest of the ride was a little chattier, and as the sun was setting Donna Sue finally pulled up to Ravel’s apartment. With a little bit of effort from Ravel and Donna Sue managed to get Ravel’s suitcases up into her apartment.
Ravel took a deep breath and smelled the distinct smell of her home. It was just as she left it and that was both a good and bad thing. The familiarity of it all immediately put Ravel at ease and she felt more herself. It felt smaller than it ever had, though. There wasn’t a nursery with a cozy crib, a play pen to hang out in, or even a high chair to eat chicken nuggets out of. It was just Ravel’s apartment. Still stuffed with far too much in a small space for Ravel to ever dream of having any of the baby furniture Alice had. Furniture that she was sorely missing now.
“I came in and checked on things every now and then,” Donna Sue said with a sigh as she sat the suitcase she was carrying down. “So, it should all be like you left it.”
“Yeah, it is,” Ravel managed to hide her melancholy. “Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it. Now that we got your stuff in, I need some food. Watcha thinkin for your first meal back?” Ravel was really hungry, but she was also really tired. A unique type of physically and emotionally tired that made her crave trashy food.
“Can we just get some fast food?” Ravel asked hopefully.
“Honestly that would hit the spot,” Donna Sue said hungrily. “You place the order while I get your diapers out. I bet you’re ready for a diaper change now.” Ravel had a thought to protest and say she’d change herself, but if what Donna Sue said was right these empty feelings she was having would pass. Ravel reasoned that if she acted normal, she might get back to normal faster and she was eager to get back to normal. So, she didn’t protest, and just decided to let it happen.
“I’m gonna get the big chicken nugget box,” Ravel called to Donna Sue who was in her room.
“Sounds good to me. Now, do you want Twinkle Stars or Pretty Pink Ponies,” Donna Sue held one of each prospective diaper in either of her hands.
“Pretty Pink Ponies,” Ravel answered with a playful smirk.
“Yes! I was hoping you’d pick those. I’ve got just the onesie to match.” Donna Sue happily hopped back into Ravel’s bed room and Ravel decided to fall into the playful feeling trying desperately to bloom through her gloom. She wasn’t over it quite yet, but playing along with her friend which cheered her up a bit. She playfully flopped onto her bed and Donne Sue was waiting with the diaper and a pink onesie decorated with cute wolves.
