Ravel exited from her plane's gate with the same relieved sigh that she would make after plopping in her chair after a long day at the hardware store. Only now the relief came from finally standing after a long time sitting instead of the other way around. The passengers that had tormented her during her flight walked past her each giving a knowing subtle wave. Without the pressure to make a flight, Ravel felt no particular rush to get to the baggage claim area. It would probably take a while for the bags to show up at the baggage area anyway.
She spared a thought to send a quick message to both Donna Sue and CryBabyCereal letting both know she had landed safely.
“Have fun!” was Donna Sue’s quick reply.
“We’re almost there,” Was CryBabyCereal’s shortly after.
Ravel locked her phone and lackadaisically made her way to the baggage claim area. Ravel noted several of her fellow passengers running into the bathroom, eager to relieve their bladders from the flight. Ravel didn’t even need to risk a diaper check to know she had wet it during the flight. The hastily taped diaper was not holding the added weight that Ravel particularly well. It sloshed uncomfortably as she moved and it felt like she was carrying a separate bag around her waist as she walked. Despite the bad positioning, the diaper could hold more, and Ravel wasn’t eager to use the public changing rooms at the airport. If it wasn’t obvious enough before that she was in a diaper, schlepping onto a changing table was about as direct of a giveaway as Ravel could imagine.
Having not been deterred by the bathroom, Ravel was one of the first people at the baggage claim area despite her slow pace. The siren of incoming baggage hid the sound of a chaos notification, but Ravel felt the vibration.
CryBabyCereal: Made it. Where you at?
Baggage claim. Carousel 3. :Bandsy
Ravel reflexively looked around, but of course CryBabyCereal was not capable of instantaneous teleportation. Ravel turned her attention back to the incoming baggage trying to pick out her uninteresting bag in the sea of uninteresting bags. With a start Ravel found hers and quickly hoisted it off the carousel.
“Bandsy?” an excited voice squeaked. Ravel turned around.
Though she looked decidedly different in real life, the source of the voice was unmistakably CryBabyCereal. She was a little shorter and wider than Ravel had imagined her, but her lightly tanned face and black hair were unmistakable. Even for just a trip to the airport she had a fashionable flair. She was wearing a black dress with a lightly ruffled skirt and chest. It was just shy of being a Lolita dress.
“Hugs?” she asked holding her arms wide. Ravel smiled as an answer and the two embraced. The moment was surreal for Ravel. She always knew that, behind the name, CryBabyCereal was a real person. She had become friends with this real person even. Even still, physically touching a person that until now was a name on a screen was a strange, but happy, feeling.
The hug was long, but eventually ended. As it did, a taller a man with a darker complexion with brown hair in a mohawk approached.
“Oh yeah,” CryBabyCereal looked back to the man. “That’s my man.” The familiar man smiled and waved.
“Miguel,” he said extending his arm.
“Ravel,” Ravel said shaking it gently.
“Oh Alice,” CryBabyCereal gestured to herself. “Real life so we’re probably gonna be using real names.”
“It may be tough to get used to,” Ravel chuckled nervously.
“Tell me about it. I still call Betsy Bunny.” There was a small, awkward silence. “Well, I’m sure you’re ready for a nap. Let’s get home, huh.”
“Yeah, you would not believe the trip I’ve had.”
“I bet,” Alice grabbed Ravel’s larger suitcase and led the way out of the airport.
“Sweetie,” Miguel said quickly.
“Oh yeah. You need a change before we hit the road?” Alice asked as casually as if she were talking about the weather. “Got about an hour to the house. You can change there if you think you’ll hold.”
“I uh …” Ravel paused with a slight blush. “I’ll wait.”
“I don’t blame you,” Alice said walking again. “Getting changed at one of these public changing stations is not as glamorous as the smut stories make it out to be.”
“I wasn’t asking about her sweetie,” Miguel reminded gently.
“Oh,” it was Alice’s turn to blush slightly. “I might have a messy diaper,” Alice admitted with a smile. “Joys of being diaper dependent, you have accidents at the worst times.”
“Oh, did you need to change?” Ravel asked with a stammer.
“I’m fine. It’s just a messy diaper. I can stay in it all day. It’s up to you. If you don’t want to drive all the way back with me stinking up the car though I can change here.”
“Then again, might be something you want to get used to if you’re gonna spend any amount of time around baby girl,” Miguel couldn’t resist adding. Alice elbowed him and the two chuckled.
“I don’t mind,” Ravel said trying to be polite to her host.
“Bandsy … Ravel,” Alice corrected herself. “Is probably just as used to it as I am,” Alice said trying to ease some of the awkward tension. Ravel had a half smile but didn’t respond.
It was a quick walk to Miguel’s car, a small plain looking brown sedan. Miguel got to work storing Ravel’s bags in the trunk.
“Sorry we don’t have a booster seat,” Alice said opening the back for Ravel.
“I’m almost surprised you don’t,” Ravel said sitting in the back and buckling up. “If anyone would have one it would be you.”
“I’ve looked,” Alice said before sitting in the passenger seat. If she had any reaction to sitting in the mess in her diaper she didn’t show it. “They don’t even fit in the car. You need an S.U.V. Plus it’s hella ugly.”
“Apparently, Theo’s working on a new one.”
“That woman’s always working on something,” Alice said as Miguel got into the driver’s seat.
“Ready girls?” He said starting the car.
“Ready daddy,” Alice said with a smile. Ravel nervously gave a thumbs up from the back seat.
It was a quiet ride to Alice and Miguel’s home. The drain from the flight was showing on Ravel. She stayed mostly silent as Alice and Miguel talked between themselves, and informing Ravel of different plans they had. Ravel was a bit too tired to really pay attention. Ravel did eventually smell that Alice was indeed in a messy diaper. It was odd to her. She was used to that distinct smell, but only from herself. To know it was from someone else gave her a feeling that she couldn’t quite put her finger on. It was a kind of passive acceptance that didn’t have a word. Wearing and messing a diaper was so common and accepted that the smell of one was totally normal and could come from anyone. Even if it was just in this small group of three, it was a group where wearing and messing diapers was normal. The strangeness that this feeling came from a smell that, no matter how much one was into diapers, was fairly unpleasant didn’t escape Ravel.
“Well, here we are,” Miguel said as they pulled into a modestly sized house amidst a sea of similar houses in a compact neighborhood.
“Come on let’s get you settled in,” Alice said eagerly getting out of the car.
“You,” Miguel pointed to Alice as she got out. “Need to go change your diaper.”
“And leave my guest all alone?”
“You’re going to get a rash,” Miguel said in a distinct tone. “Shower and change. Now.” The tone was soft but assertive.
“Yes daddy,” Alice said quickly. “The tour will have to wait til I get clean I guess.”
“I’ll get Ravel settled in in the meantime.”
“She’s staying in the nursery though. That’s half the tour right there. You gotta wait for me first.” Miguel gave Alice a tired look.
“I don't mind waiting,” Ravel said quietly. Alice smirked triumphantly.
“Go change stinky,” Miguel reminded. Alice hurried off inside. Ravel followed Miguel to the trunk. Taking her smaller carry-on and backpack while Miguel got the larger suitcase. “You want a snack while we wait for princess to get clean?” Miguel asked with a smile.
“Sure,” Ravel said cheerfully.
She followed Miguel inside the home. They entered through the front door which led into the first floor which seemed to be the main living space. The floor was almost evenly divided between the kitchen and living room. A wall ran along the length of the floor dividing the two rooms but it had large gaps in it that easily let one room looking into the other.
Ravel stopped to take it all in. She stood awkwardly by the door, very aware that she was in another couple's space. Miguel was busy in the kitchen looking through some of the cabinets.
“You want a sandwich?” Miguel offered. Ravel silently nodded and took the invitation to move further in. She deposited her carry-on and back pack next to where Miguel put her bigger suitcase. She had a chance to look around and at first glance things were normal. In the living room a sectional dominated the wall looking toward a large tv, and the kitchen had all the modern appliances one would want as well as a bar with some rustic wooden bar stools. That was the surface, but Ravel was in the know and already noticed some giveaways to the couple’s dynamic. One bar stool wasn’t a barstool, but a softer painted chair with a harness attached to it and a tray sitting nearby: a high chair hidden in plain sight. In the living room a small box tucked next to the tv was open and inside Ravel could make out a disassembled play pen. And there was an oddly high number of stuffies and other toys scattered around.
“There ya go,” Miguel surprised Ravel as he approached with a small plate. On it was a rolled up tortilla cut in half. “Pb and J though it doesn’t look it,” Miguel explained. “Alice and I are trying to watch what we eat. These are like keto tortillas. Supposed to be better for you.” Ravel took the plate and took a cautious bite at one of the rolled tortillas. Whatever taste was missing from the lack of bread was hidden by the excess of peanut butter and jelly, which also probably covered any health benefit as well, but it was still tasty. Ravel nodded approval as she ate.
“Haven’t met a little yet that didn’t like pb n j,” Miguel smiled proudly. “Alice outta be out in a few minutes,” he took a seat on the couch. “Try not to be too nervous.” Ravel chuckled nervously and sat on the couch a respectable distance away.
“Sorry. It's just being in a new place,” Ravel explained.
“Hey I get it,” Miguel said with a shrug. “We’re takin things at your pace though. I know Alice can be a little headstrong and I know she’s eager to get some play time with you. You be sure to let us know if it’s too much.”
“I will,” Ravel said with determination.
There was some rumbling upstairs, where she assumed the other rooms in the house were. Alice must have finished her shower. Ravel could hear some footsteps above moving to what must have been either her room or her nursery. Maybe they were the same thing? Ravel struggled with thinking of a way to ask that that wasn’t rude and couldn’t come up with anything.
“Oh gosh what is she doing up there?” Miguel said with a bit of worry. Ravel did notice that, even for taping on a new diaper and getting re dressed, Alice was taking a while. “You might want to brace yourself. I think shenanigans are afoot.”
“Shenanigans?” Ravel asked.
“Never know with Alice,” Miguel said with a smile. Ravel gulped with a hint of nervousness.
Eventually Alice did appear downstairs and the reason for the wait was obvious. She rounded the corner of the stairs with a flourish. She had changed into a definitely Lolita, dark blue dress that was nicely accented with white ruffles. The dress was on the shorter aside but still fell to an appropriate length above Alice’s knees. The look was completed with some light blue thigh high socks and one other accessory. A very noticeable thick, black, leather collar was around Alice’s neck, and she was somewhat seductively holding the chain leash in her right hand.
“This was the closest thing I had to a tour guide outfit,” Alice explained. “But I figure that the best way to keep a tour guide from getting ahead of you is to keep her on a short leash. Go on Ravel, grab ahold.” Alice held out the matching black leather handle of the leash toward Ravel. Though Alice was projecting outward confidence, there was a subtle nervousness to her. She was trying to break the ice and to make Ravel feel safer being little in the unfamiliar environment. Ravel’s guards were still up, but she could tell that Alice was making an effort. With a nervous smile Ravel decided to make an effort as well. She gingerly took the handle and Alice dropped the leash letting it sway like a jump rope connecting her and Ravel.
“Maybe we can start where my diapers are so I can change?” Ravel asked.
“Diaper changes at the end of the tour,” Alice said officially, before cracking a slight smile. “Anyway, let’s begin. Just give me a little tug if I’m moving on too fast. I am a good girl I know how to be walked on a leash. Right honey?” Alice looked to Miguel who chuckled nervously. “So, this is the living room, the room where I like to live,” Alice gestured to the space they were in. Ravel felt unsure holding the leash in her hands, but she told herself again that she had to try. It was weird and awkward now, but the only way to get past it was by diving in head first.
