Ravel groaned awake and kicked off her covers. Her hair frizzed into her eye as she slowly stood up clutching a stuffed bunny she had slept with. A pink pacifier clipped onto her flower themed onesie dangled loosely as Ravel stretched and put herself together enough to get out of bed. With a smirk she started to fill her diaper from the night. Smiling at how easy it had gotten to do so. She was casually checking her phone while she kept peeing in her diaper.

It was already noon, a sure sign the Ravel was well and truly beat from her marathon of streams yesterday. Just like she had predicted though, she went to bed in a fresh diaper and onesie. Ravel absent mindedly pressed against her diaper when she was finally done to see how full she had made it. Not very, but that was Stuffie’s diapers for you. She could wear that diaper until dinner without any leaks, and she probably would unless she had to mess. That’s a topic that was on her mind because once again she found her email flooded with ads for diapers, specifically messing them. Some new promotion called Mess Monday. Even though today was Thursday, but Ravel got the feeling that was the joke.

She got to work deleting the spam emails in annoyance as she was looking for specific emails; confirmation of money being deposited. She did eventually find it, and though it wasn’t in her account yet, it would be by the end of the day. Even though yesterday was exhausting that big number did make her feel pretty good about things.

That number quickly grew smaller. A sizeable chunk went to her mods, and Ravel was smart enough to keep another decent chunk saved away, as well as another small amount to get more little gear. She told herself it was props for her stream, but deep down she knew she wanted them for herself. More diapers, maybe a rattle and some other toys. It would be a fun trip to the store if Ravel felt like leaving her apartment that day.

That wasn’t likely though, after the long day yesterday Ravel was looking to relax and there was one way she was looking to try.

For as much of a baby as she was during that last stream, Ravel hadn’t ever engaged in little space play. Actually getting baby brained and playing with toys and coloring or something. Ravel wasn’t exactly sure what would do it, and she had several options. She had gotten some coloring books, some blocks, some rattles, and some miscellaneous baby toys. It wasn’t all that expensive, less than a video game at least.

With some determination Ravel grabbed her bag full of toys and laid them all out behind her usual gaming chair. Her apartment didn’t really have the room for a play area, Ravel would have to make do with what she had. She laid her toys out in the small area and put on a fairly popular cartoon about an anthropomorphic dog that was a kindergartner. She could watch the cartoon playing on her computer as she sat down on the floor with her toys.

The stage was set. Ravel was in a onesie, with a wet diaper and a pacifier, surrounded by baby toys, and with cartoons playing nearby. She wasn’t sure what was supposed to happen now, if the urge to be baby would just come to her. It didn’t seem like it would. She sat on the floor not sure of what to do. She couldn’t even conjure up her inner mommy voice to help things along. The only thing that happened was that she got surprisingly engrossed in the cartoon. Finding herself getting interested in the dog’s dilemma about how to handle the bully that stole her juice. She had moved back into her chair and didn’t come out of her trance until she had wet her diaper again.

With a bit of a frown Ravel paused the cartoon to go make some lunch. She ruminated on her feelings as she heated up the last of her leftover spaghetti. The imposter syndrome was coming on strong. Was she really a little if she couldn’t even get into little space? Was she just playing a little on stream to get money from people. The wet diaper between her legs would suggest some kind of commitment, but Ravel wasn’t really thinking straight.

She sat down with her spaghetti and a decidedly not little headspace and resumed her cartoon, analyzing it with her fully adult mind having given up on playing at least for today.

Donna Sue: How did the stream go?

Ravel was shocked by the text tone coming from her phone having been used to the Chaos and email tones.

Pretty well but I am feeling it today. :Ravel

Donna Sue: How many streams did you end up doing?

3. :Ravel

Donna Sue: Yikes!

Donna Sue: Hopefully you made enough from it though?

Enough is about it. A ton of it’s already gone to mods and to buying more props. Plus, I gotta figure out insurance and junk. :Ravel

Donna Sue: Yeah, I’ve never had to get insurance for myself. I have no idea how that works.

And you think I do? I’m supposed to be a baby! :Ravel

Donna Sue: lol

Donna Sure: Well, if you want, I can try and find you some books on the subject here at the library. Maybe like a small business owner guide or something.

That’d be helpful. If you have the time. :Ravel

Donna Sue: For sure. I’ll bring it by later. Want me to grab some food for us?

Ravel winced and looked at herself. She was looking forward to enjoying the day being little and she wasn’t sure she could do that with Donna Sue around. Despite that though she still felt bad about telling her friend no to hanging out.

Well, I was kinda taking the day to bab out. :Ravel

Donna Sue: Doesn’t bother me any, as long as you don’t mess while I’m there.

Even Donna Sue had messing on the brain it seemed.

I don’t mess my diapers. :Ravel

Ravel responded defensively against messing instead of telling Donna Sue no and she took the opportunity.

Donna Sue: Good, then I’ll see you later with some chicky nuggies for your baby day ^^.

Well, Ravel couldn’t tell her no after that. She sighed and put her phone down, finishing her spaghetti with a frown. She wasn’t really excited that her friend was coming over, and she did feel a little bad about that. Regardless of her feelings about it, it was inevitable at this point, and she needed to prepare.

She got to work clearing off the toys she had failed to play with and picking out a less baby outfit than the onesie. She settled on a dress that was still on the short side. She didn’t have a dress on the not short side. Especially with a diaper as used as hers was by this time, the short maroon sun dress was terrible at hiding a diaper, but conveniently Ravel also had to go to the bathroom.

Ravel did sigh a bit in frustration at the hassle of taking a diaper off just to use the toilet, but she didn’t do that in her diapers as she expressed to Donna Sue, she didn’t want to be in a soaked diaper when she came over anyway. Not wearing a diaper at all was out of the question. She said she wouldn’t be bothered by Ravel being little, so this mature outfit with a diaper would no doubt be fine.

By the time Ravel had taken care of all of that, and spent a bit of time looking for more stream sponsors, the rap of Donna Sue at her door filled Ravel’s apartment. Ravel opened the door with a bit of trepidation.

When Ravel opened the door Donna Sue stood on the other side, two bags of fast food in her hands.

“Chikky nuggies as promised,” Donna Sue said with a smile. “I thought you said you were ‘babing out’ today,” Donna Sue said noting Ravel’s attire.

“I have a diaper on,” Ravel said mildly offended.

“A diaper isn’t exactly ‘babing out’,” Donna Sue said entering the apartment. “These days that’s an outfit you wear to the store. Where's the outfit you were wearing before I came over?”

“This is what I was wearing,” Ravel said with a blush.

“Ravel,” Donna Sue accused putting her hands on her hips. Ravel turned away. “I told you that I was fine with it if you wanted to dress little. You act like we didn’t get into pull-ups together in college.”

“It’s not exactly pull-ups,” Ravel tried to counter.

“I’m not a prude Ravel. Go put on a onesie.”

“I just don’t wanna …” Ravel trailed off.

“Ravel you can put on the onesie or I can put it on you.” There was a moment where Ravel and Donna Sue looked each other in the eye. Ravel was measuring her friend’s seriousness in that statement. She was serious, at least as far as Ravel could tell. With a quiet huff Ravel moved to her bed to get a onesie. Donna Sue smiled in victory.

“I’ll be back with the books I got you,” Donna Sue said sitting the food on Ravel’s small table. “Some self employment guide books, and I also found a few insurance and retirement plans for you that I want to go over.”

“You wanna talk about all that while I’m in a onesie,” Ravel grumbled quietly.

“Be back in a bit,” Donna Sue said ignoring the comment.

Ravel was able to get back into her flower themed onesie before Donna Sue came back in. She felt weird about the whole thing. She never really doubted that Donna Sue was ok with it. Ravel was realizing that the problem was maybe she wasn’t the on ok with being little around her friend, and she was realizing that she might have failed to articulate that. Ravel had only a moment to ponder this feeling. Why she felt weird being little around her friend even after being baby to the whole internet for a whole day. Donna Sue just wasn’t in that baby box perhaps.

Donna Sue reentered the room with a few books in her hand to a blushing shy Ravel.

“See that’s way cuter,” she commented before picking up on Ravel’s mood. “You ok?” There was a silence as the mood dawned on Donna Sue. “Oh, I think … Maybe I … I’m sorry Ravel.” Donna Sue didn’t find the words to say but Ravel got the message.

“It’s fine,” she said unsurely. “It’s fine,” she reaffirmed. With an exhale Ravel recentered herself and repeated the phrase again deliberately. “It’s fine. I mean it’s a little weird, but I guess this is who I am now.”

“You sure?” Donna Sue. “You can put your dress back on if you want. I didn’t mean to force you into anything you didn’t want to do.”

“I’ll get over it,” Ravel reaffirmed. “We’re best friends you’re gonna see me in a onesie eventually.” What Ravel was really saying here is that she didn’t want to grow to resent her friend. If she had to put on regular clothes every time Donna Sue came over Ravel would grow to resent her visits and visiting her. She didn’t want that to happen, and that meant letting her friend in on this part of her life.

“If you’re sure,” Donna Sue said still on eggshells a bit.

“I am. I’m also hungry,” Ravel quickly changed the topic and powered through her nervousness at the situation. “Chikky nuggies!” She cheered making her way to the table. Donna Sue cracked a small smile and followed.

Ravel was already digging into one of the two bags and getting her own set of chicken nuggets out of the bag when Donna Sue sat down.

“Now I wanna go over a few of these things with you.” Donna Sue straightened some papers. Ravel groaned. “Come on this is serious stuff. If you’re working for yourself you need to set this stuff up now so you can start saving.”

Throughout the munching on chicken nuggets Donna Sue did manage to instruct Ravel on a vast swath of adult financial advice that she had spent the better part of her afternoon researching, likely ignoring her actual job as a librarian. Ravel did eventually start to pay attention, as this was some of the stuff she had been having lingering anxiety about. Food was eaten and a few hours more passed by. As the night drew to a close Ravel had committed another chunk of the money she made to her friends’ suggestions.

“Well, there went the rest of the money I made,” Ravel sighed in annoyance.

“That’s adulting for you,” Donna Sue shrugged.

“I’m gonna have to do all those streams again.”

“Kinda like it’s a job or something,” Donna Sue said in faux sympathy. Ravel shot her a glare that failed to be intimidating while she was in a onesie. “This stuff is important though. You’ll thank me later.”

“I’ll thank you now,” Ravel corrected. “I really appreciate you looking into all this for me.”

“Don’t worry about it,” Donna Sue waved the thanks away.

“No really this was probably a lot.”

“Research is why I got my degree you know. I think it’s fun.”

“Weirdo,” Ravel giggled.

“Look who’s talking!” Ravel and Donna Sue both giggled at the comment.

“Ah I need to get back home,” Donna Sue looked at the time on her phone.

“Yeah, we kinda hit it hard.”

“Hey listen though,” Donna Sue paused to note she was speaking seriously. “Don’t be a stranger. Ok. I really don’t mind if you’re in diapers or onesies. I’d hate for you to stop coming by just because you don’t want to stop dressing cute.”

“It’s not like I’m gonna wear this stuff on the drive over.”

“It’s not the auts anymore. You probably could get away with wearing a onesie in your car.”

“Yeah, but we’re in Alabama; we’re always a few years behind.”

“I just don’t want you to …”

“I won’t.” Ravel said seriously. Even if Donna Sue didn’t finish her thought because she couldn’t find the words, Ravel knew what she meant. They didn’t need to say anything else.

“Ok,” Donna Sue said with a smile. “I’ll see you around then.”
